Keeping an active life is one of the many ways to promote health and maintain a healthy body and mind. However, a busy life sometimes means a lot of chances to put your body to fatigue and/or under more stress. People who are physically active, and often people who practice any sport either for hobby or as an athlete, could often develop pain or get sore because of muscles, joints, extremity and spine injuries. These problems may be actually not only  because their muscle-skeletal system is not working at it should be but also because the spine is not functioning at its optimal level.

The sore spots and pains could subside on their own and overtime, but maintaining a high level of physical activities means people cannot rest and the body may be under constant stress. This is often one cause why people and/or athletes practicing a sport regularly can get into trouble with more serious injuries.

One thing is clear, sport activities can be tough,  constant practices, constant workouts and games are often physically demanding. Therefore, it is important to take proper care of the body for high levels of performance and quick recovery. Chiropractic-sports is often a topic that generates controversy. However, we all know that any machine (as the body is) requires all the parts working in harmony to run smoothly, avoid breakdowns and efficiently deliver high performance plus be reliable. Our body is not an exemption from what we mentioned above. Correcting asymmetries, increasing the range of motion, maintaining spine alignment, increasing the healing rate and boosting performance could be important to enjoy an active-high sport demand life.

Throughout our over 36 years practicing, it has become very clear what important it may be to give the body the right help by offering the athlete- sport’s people the advantage of proper spine and muscle-skeletal care to improve stability, reduce injury and enhance the body’s innate abilities to heal.   

Since there are many causes that lead to and athlete- sport’s person get injured and/or not performed well, the purpose of Gonstead chiropractic is first to determine what the causes of the problem may be, thus we could deliver the proper care which it may require chiropractic and extremity care and rehabilitation. The ultimate goal is to boost the body's functions and healing.
